WAMD visited the new exhibition at the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona) about the writer and italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini and his relationship with the eternal city: Rome.
We really enjoyed the way it is focused on the different facets of
Pasolini's life: poet, novelist, screenwriter, filmmaker, lover, and
much more.
The
exhibition starts with Pasolini's arrival in Rome, and from here on, it
analyses his different creative and life stages giving importance to
the society in which he lived, Italy during the 60s and 70s, society
that influenced him. The Rome of Pasolini is the Rome of its people and
its neighbourhoods, a new city discovered through his very personal
perspective. All these creative processes end with his murder the 2nd of
November, 1975.
We really encourage you to visit this wonderful exhibition and take your time to feel all the images, writings and films which are shown. Best plan for a sunday afternoon!
The exhibition PASOLINI ROMA
is a shared project by CCCB in Barcelona, the Cinémathèque Française in
Paris, the Azienda Palaexpo - Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, and
the Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin.
